About The Bayberry Inn Bed and Breakfast

Bayberry Inn is a dream come true for David and Bonnie Konya.  The possibility of opening a bed and breakfast had been discussed for years and in 1998, we found the perfect house for us.  In February 1999, the property was ours and the long road of changing a private residence/former guesthouse into a bed and breakfast began.  We knew what changes we wanted to make and spoke with architects, contractors, and inspectors in order to bring those ideas to reality.  Our renovations began in October 2000 and we welcomed the first guests to Bayberry Inn for Memorial Day Weekend, 2001.  At that time, we opened with seven rooms.  Further renovations transformed storage on the top floor of the house into a spacious two-room suite which can provide a space for a romantic getaway.

Bonnie and David grew up in the Harleysville/Telford area of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.  Bonnie worked as a radiologic technologist in a Pennsylvania hospital for twenty years and then worked in a radiology outpatient facility after moving to Ocean City.  David worked in water purification for thirty years before retiring from his outside job and becoming self-employed as an innkeeper of the Bayberry Inn.  Both Bonnie and David enjoy meeting new people many of who have become friends over the past years.  We look forward to welcoming you to our home and our beautiful beach city.

About Our Dog

Pearl, our salt and pepper miniature schnauzer, was the official mascot and greeter at the Bayberry Inn.  She was with us when we greeted our first guests on Memorial Day weekend, 2001 and continued her job for 17 seasons.  She met many guests in her years with us and was loved by many.  We were sorry to have her cross the Rainbow Bridge in April 2018.  She will be missed by many.

Amber joined us for our 18th season in 2018.  She, too, is a miniature schnauzer.  She also loves meeting and visiting with guests and has enjoyed her job at the bed and breakfast.  She has some big paws to fill, but her first season shows her doing a very good job.  Amber looks forward to making you her new “friend” and we hope that you enjoy meeting her.
