Snow at the Beach
Many guests who visit Ocean City every summer ask if we ever get snow. Most people cannot imagine "their shore town" and beach covered in snow. Like many towns in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area, some winters are warm with no snow and others are very cold and snowy. This winter has been one of cold and snow. Since January 1, 2022, Ocean City has seen over thirty inches of snow with three different storms. During the storm of January 2 and 3, Ocean City received more snow than any other town in New Jersey - fourteen inches. Then mid January, we had a small storm with only about six inches followed by the noreaster January 28 and 29 which dumped over fifteen inches.
With all of these storms, Atlantic City International Airport broke a record of snowfall in the month of January and the winter is not over. An impending storm for Super Bowl Weekend is expected to coat the area with several more inches. May be a record winter.
